No Wear in the SCCA AS spec engine
after five seasons.
June 2014

After picking up a major vibration at Pocono, the engine
was pulled from the SCCA AS #20 Mustang in late May
2014, to go back to Rich's Auto Machine Shop (RAMS)
in Fleetwood, PA for a tear down and inspection.  Shop
Owner Rich Keller performed the inspection and
confirmed that the engine had no measurable bearing or
cylinder wall wear. "The bearings look brand new."  he
added.  Using BG 20W-50 racing oil has helped the
engine perform under a number of adverse conditions
over the past five seasons to include:
running over rpm limit, overheating, low oil pressure
operation and extremely high oil temperatures.
NWR's #20 SCCA American Sedan Ford Mustang
is getting some new mods from Steeda Autosports for
the 2014 season. With an already growing list of parts
like:
Steeda 5 link Rear Suspension,
Steeda X2 balljoints, Steeda Front and Rear
Swaybars
, Steeda A arm Bushings and Steeda
G-trac bar
, NWR is adding a set of Steeda Front
and Rear Race springs
and Steeda's Champion 3
core aluminum radiator.
The Steeda springs are
lighter with improved rates over the H&R springs, and
lower the ride height an inch for better handling.  The
Champion 3 core Radiator replaces the earlier Steeda
2 core roadrace (copper/brass) unit for better cooling.
For 2014
NWR adds some major

In addition to Road Racing, Steeda has
suspension/chassis Mods for Drag Racing.
Steeda's Drag Anti roll bar is essential in
preventing axle wind-up and body roll for quicker
straighter launches with improved 60foots and
overall ETs. For 2014 this is one Mod going into
NWR's '79 NMRA Mustang which will replace the
stock rear swaybar. Other Steeda parts on the
Mustang :
Steeda F & R Superite Drag

NWR Hits the Track at Pocono for the
SCCA Freedom Races
May 10-11, 2014
Brad Satow was back on track at Pocono after
missing the NJRRS series finale in Oct. 2013. After
several mods to the 20 AS Ford Mustang during
the off season, the car didn't disappoint. Brad set
a new personal best laptime by three seconds over
last year with a 1:45.527 minute lap which was the
second fastest car in class. The weekend took a
turn for the worse after Brad picked up a bad
vibration that ended his weekend after racing his
way to second position. Brad is looking to have the
car ready for Summer Thunder at NJMP later this
summer.
Brad Satow Makes it to 3rd Round and sets a new
During Saturdays two time shots, Brad set a new NWR ET
Record with a 10.297 run. "The car really hooked and we did
it with less nitrous than our 10.32 pass in 2013." said Brad
after the run. He is crediting the improved car reaction to the
Steeda Hardcore Anti-roll Bar.
During Sunday's elimination rounds Brad scored two round
11.36 dial with a .029 reaction time to a 10.002 on a 10.00
dial with a .015 reaction time.
