Tim Schmoyer and Brad Satow face off in Rd 1 Eliminations at
NMRA at MIR Twenty five competitors in Open Comp showed up to race
at the NMRA Ford Nationals at Maryland International Raceway. After Brad
set a new NWR ET/MPH record on Friday with 11.16 @ 118mph all motor
pass, Saturday he qualifies in the back of the pack with a .022 red light RT.
Tim Schmoyer making a solid qualifying effort with 13th, laddered him with
Brad in Rd 1 in Sunday Eliminations. After winning a coin toss for lane
choice Brad chose the left lane. The cars staged with Tim going deep and
with a slight lead time on the dial. Tim having the better light never looked
back as Brad could not get to the line first. Tim advanced to Rd 2. Because
of Sundays weather both cars were off their dial about a tenth.This was the
first NMRA Elimination round that Brad and Tim were up against each other.

Freedom race at the newly repaved
Pocono 2.245 mile roadcourse. After
some minor issues with rain on Saturday
Brad Satow in the SCCA AS #20 SCCA
during qualifying, Brad finished third in the
first Qualifying race.
Brad's best lap time was a 148.484 on
the New Pocono RoadCourse. Steve
Tumolo Jr. took the win and an early lead
in the NJRRS Points.

NWR struggles in New Jersey...Tumolo

Brad Satow was back at NJMP for the 6th running
of the Lightning Challenge. With temperatures in the
low 90s and high humidity with the threat of rain, the
#20 Mustang had cooling system issues all
weekend. Having to come off track early to avoid
over heating in all the sessions caused Brad a
major hit in the points that Steve Tumolo Jr was
able to capitalize on. After winning the qualifying
and feature races, Steve extended his points lead.

Testing for Fun Ford Weekend at Maple Grove
Raceway, Brad Satow set new NWR record for 1/4
mile ET with a 10.328 second pass. The nitrous
equipped 2 bolt main small block Ford also blazed
the 1/8 mile in 6.535 sec. at 108.38mph, which was
Hoosier QT Pro. This with a hot and slick Maple
Grove track made for a pretty exciting pass.

all motor showdown. After a slower reaction, Brad
managed to edge out Tim with a 11.29 ET to his 11.59
ET in a pretty close finish.
During Saturday's Bracket Races, Brad had problems
early during Rd 1 time trials after burning up his starter
which put him out for the day. Tim had a good consistent
day winning his first two elimination rounds. He also
made it very close in Rd 3, losing by only a few
thousands.
Sunday's bracket races were canceled due to rain.
